Amy Sklar is a Los Angeles based interior designer. Prior to starting her own practice, Amy worked at Moore Ruble Yudell Architects & Planners, winner of the AIA Architecture Firm award in 2006. As one of the first members of the firms thriving interior design studio, she gained tremendous experience as lead designer on a variety of high end residential and commercial projects.

Raised nomadically across the United States, Amy has lived in no less than 15 different residences ranging from a mid-century modern, in the woods of Maryland, to a 100 year old clapboard residence in a historic section of Long Island. This wide range of dwellings has helped inform Amy’s eclectic style and effortless merging of modern and classic aesthetics, and has fostered a deep understanding of a wide range of architectural and interior styles. As the mother of two small children, Amy realizes that interiors must also be functional, livable, and above all, comfortable. Working with care, humor and understanding, Amy strives to realize her client’s visions in a way that is fun, creative and collaborative.
Amy graduated from UCLA’s Professional Level Program in Interior Design and Architecture and graduated with honors from Lewis and Clark College, receiving a B.F.A in Furniture Design. Amy also spent time abroad studying fine furniture building in Bristol England. Her work has been included in the International Table Lamp and Chair show, where she was honored with a student award.
Amy Sklar Design Inc. is a full service design studio. Amy is an NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification) certificate holder (Certificate # 24338), and has also successfully completed the California Codes and Regulation exam, as is required by the California Council for Interior Design Certification
